South Harrow Patrols Leads to Drug Supply Arrest Following Foot Chase

Two men were arrested on suspicion of drug supply offences after officers conducting proactive patrols in South Harrow observed suspicious behaviour in a car park off Northolt Road.

Officers entered the location during routine patrols and noticed two men standing beside a parked vehicle. On sight of police, the pair immediately separated, with one man running from the area despite officers directing him to stop. A foot chase followed along Northolt Road, during which the suspect was seen discarding an item believed to be a cannabis joint before being detained nearby.

The second man remained within the car park but attempted to leave the area and was detained for a drugs search. Officers subsequently recovered a significant quantity of cash from his possession.

A search of the nearby vehicle uncovered suspected cannabis resin, weighing scales with suspected drug residue, further cash, and a quantity of suspected prescription-only medications. The medications were found in packaging that did not appear to contain any details linking them to a legitimate prescription.

During the incident, one of the suspects provided false details to officers. Further enquiries established his identity and linked him to the vehicle. Officers also recovered vehicle keys that had been discarded close to the location where he was detained.

Both men were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class B and Class C controlled drugs and taken into custody for further investigation.

The arrests demonstrate the effectiveness of proactive neighbourhood patrols and the vigilance of local officers in identifying suspicious activity, pursuing offenders, and removing suspected drugs from the streets. Through teamwork, quick decision-making and determined foot patrol tactics, officers secured evidence and prevented further suspected criminal activity within the community.
