Community Event in Rochester

Today, PCSO Pearson and PCSO Hendrie were pleased to attend the Karkidaka Vavu Bali Tharpanam event at Medway Towns Rowing Club, Rochester. A celebration meant to honour ancestors and to remember those you have lost. 

It was great to meet members of the local community and those who had come from out of county, some coming from places like Leeds, Norwich and Scotland, learn more about this important remembrance ceremony, and experience the warm welcome extended by organisers and attendees. Events like these provide a valuable opportunity to celebrate the diverse cultures that make Medway such a vibrant place to live.

Thank you to everyone who took the time to speak with us and share their traditions. We always welcome opportunities to engage with residents, listen to community concerns, and strengthen relationships with the people we serve.
