Youth Engagement Team visit to 'Youth Matters Summer FamFest' - Summer Holiday activities for young people in New Mills

Glossop SNT - Youth Engagement in New Mills 

Glossop YET (Youth Engagement Team) called in at the Youth Matters ‘FamFest’, New Mills Youth Centre, Longlands Rd, New Mills this afternoon, Wednesday 12th August - to engage with the youngsters there today and to chat and have a catch up with the volunteers too.

'Famfest’ has provided some fantastic Summer Holiday activities for youngsters in the New Mills and surrounding areas over the last few weeks. 

On offer today were fun, games, sports, crafts, inflatables and so much more! 🌟

With 80 plus youngster attending today and on one of the hottest days of the year so far - my observations were that all were having a wonderful time - with lots of breaks and places to cool down with a drink.  

Funded places were available for children who receive free school meals. There were also limited numbers of funded places available for families who may be struggling but do not meet the free school meals criteria.

• Paid places were also available and are charged at £5 per child, per day.

What a fantastic few weeks of events - and I'd like to thank the volunters at Youth Matters for providing some great activties for youngsters during this summer holiday - ‘Well Done Team’. youv'e done a marvelous job once again.
