Emergency Services Battling Field Fires

At this time we are aware of several field fires around Bidford Upon Avon and Salford Priors. Police and Fire are on scene working hard in the heat to contain the fires. Efforts are being focused on preventing risk to life. Following that, efforts will be made to protecting property. 

We have individuals who are being treated for smoke inhalation at this time and there is a risk of smoke covering the A46 near Salford priors so all motorist should drive with great care. 

Fire engines will need to repeatedly refill their tanks with water from local hydrants, which will result in roads being closed to enable them to do this. For your safety, residents should give emergency services space to work, have patience when directed to avoid certain locations and keep windows closed to avoid smoke entering homes. Please help them to keep your local area safe and limit the damage caused by fire.
