Good evening residents. The team have been out and about today. We joined our friends PCSO Hill and PCSO Walker from British Transport Police, and we were honoured to have joined Cllr Jonathan Smale and the Spondon Historical Society at Spondon Railway Station, for a plaque unveiling. The plaque honours the station master Henry Ernest Haines, who tragically lost his life in an accident 102 years ago on this date whilst at work. The plaque is situated on the wall next to Station road, and by the pedestrian bridge over the rail lines, at the site of the old station masters office. We've also seized an e-scooter today. The rider of this particular machine had been seen causing anti-social behaviour in and around several locations in Chaddesden and Derwent for a few days now. ASB such as riding around at very fast speeds in the park, weaving in and out of pedestrians, riding on roads, riding without insurance or an MOT. Suffice to say they will not be getting this machine back. Remember E-scooters are illegal to ride on the roads and on public grounds. They can only be ridden on private land, with the land owners permission. The team will be out and about all weekend, don't forget to say hi when you see us. Also, we have a meet the team event on at Leisure United on The Racecourse on St Marks Road on Monday 13th August. Come down and meet your local neighbourhood team.
