Today (Monday 10 August) we have launched our CCTV Registry to communities across Staffordshire, encouraging residents, businesses and organisations to register their CCTV and video doorbell cameras. The CCTV Registry allows people to register the location of their cameras so that if an incident happens nearby, investigators know who they can contact. It doesn’t give us access to cameras or footage and anyone who registers remains in complete control over whether they choose to share recordings with us. Now we’re asking for your support. Whether you’re talking to residents, businesses, schools, parish councils, Neighbourhood Watch groups or community organisations, please help us spread the word. A simple conversation could encourage someone to register a camera that one day provides vital evidence, helps locate a missing person or supports an investigation. To help you, we’ve produced a range of resources including FAQs, posters, leaflets, social media assets and a QR code linking directly to the registration page. These can all be found on the CCTV Registry hub. Every camera registered has the potential to help protect our communities. Thank you for helping us make the campaign a success. | ||
