Rick covered over 3 miles of the ward's open spaces today as part of the team's ongoing 'firewatch' commitments, along with a visit into Rush Green and the Parkside beat (7.66 miles).
Beginning with the Eastbrookend Country Park (p) just after 10am, 1.67 miles of the ‘green’ space was patrolled, with 2 glass bottles collected along the way.
Footpath 18, via the riding school, towards Harveys Lane in Rush Green followed, before every street on Parish Fields (11.34am), including Campion Close (11.42am) and Carnation Close (11.55am).
A loop around Great Cullings, Harveys Lane and Thorntons Farm Avenue (12.26pm, p) all led to Central Park (12.32pm), which saw just under a mile patrolled, along with 2 more glass bottles picked up.
It was then around Woodshire Road (12.52pm, p), through Tony Rawson Way and along Park Drive (1.08pm).
There was still time for a bit of engagement with children at the May and Baker Social Club who were enjoying the final day of the week at the Dagenham and Redbridge Community Trust-run summer camp.
