Bligh’s Meadow Partnership Update

Last week, I met with the Bligh’s Meadow Shopping Centre Manager and the Business Crime Reduction Partnership (BCRP) to discuss the shopping centre and look at ways we can work together to make the area even safer and more welcoming for everyone.

It was a really positive meeting with plenty of constructive conversations. One thing that stood out was the commitment from the new owners of the shopping centre, who are investing not only in improving the appearance of the site but also in measures aimed at reducing crime and improving safety.

We discussed a range of topics including CCTV coverage, staffing on site, working hours, current and planned safety measures, Shop Safe radios, and other opportunities to reduce crime and strengthen partnership working with the centre. 

Police and the BCRP will continue working closely with the centre management team, and I am looking forward to building on the discussions from this meeting. There is a clear desire from all parties to improve Bligh’s Meadow and create a safer environment for businesses, staff and visitors alike.
