Theft of parcels from doorsteps

Hi All,

We have recently come to the realisation that parcel thefts are on the rise within the area yet not everyone is reporting these issues due to the ease of getting refunds from amazon and other online shopping websites etc.

Companies like Evri will leave parcels in very open locations at the front of addresses making it easy for opportunist thieves to take the parcels and rarely face any consequences for these dishonest actions. First off, please change settings on delivery service apps to place parcels in secretive locations or to return to a parcel depot if you are not in, this will help stop these thefts due to their being no visible parcels to steal.

If in the scenario you do have a parcel stolen from your doorstep, please report it via 101 or the met police online reporting service, this will help us build a better picture of specific locations where these thefts are occurring, making us more prepared to tackle this problem. If you have a ring doorbell camera or CCTV, please feel free to email me your reference number for the reported crime and the footage from the doorbell or CCTV, I will then get this footage uploaded to the relevant investigation.
