It's been another busy week for the City Centre Beat Team, with officers tackling antisocial behaviour, making arrests, engaging with the public, and receiving recognition for their hard work. 👏

👥 Tackling Antisocial Behaviour

Our Young Persons Lead Officer is currently working to identify a number of young people involved in recent incidents of antisocial behaviour in the city centre.

While some individuals were arrested at the time of the incidents, enquiries are ongoing and officers will be following up with those identified. Appropriate action will be taken to ensure those responsible are held accountable. ✅

🚲⚡ Operation PedalFast Delivers Results

Today, officers carried out another successful Operation PedalFast, targeting the use of illegal e-bikes and e-scooters in Leicester city centre.

Several vehicles were seized during the operation. 🚔

Significantly, the operation also led to arrests for immigration offences and the arrest of a male wanted in connection with a Grievous Bodily Harm (GBH) offence. 👮‍♂️

The GBH suspect came to officers' attention because he was riding an illegal vehicle, demonstrating that while Operation PedalFast is focused on tackling illegally used e-bikes and e-scooters, it also helps officers identify and deal with those causing harm in our communities. 💪

🏆 Recognition for Service Excellence

On Wednesday, Sergeant Zane Tompkins and PC Tom Page-Brown attended a ceremony where they received a Chief Constable's Commendation for Service Excellence. 🎖️

The award recognised their dedication and commitment in developing and delivering Operation PedalFast, which continues to improve safety and reduce antisocial behaviour across the city centre.

Congratulations to both officers on this well-deserved recognition! 👏👏

🚴 Bike Registration Event

Earlier this week, PC Tom Page-Brown and PCSO Donna attended a bicycle registration event in Town Hall Square. 📍

A number of bicycles were registered during the event, helping owners protect their property, deter theft, and increase the likelihood of bikes being returned if they are lost or stolen. 🔒🚲
