Greenfield fire |

Dear Residents,
As many of you will be aware, at approximately 7:45am yesterday, a large fire broke out at the industrial units behind Tesco on Wellington Road. Emergency services attended promptly, and the incident required a significant multi-agency response involving Greater Manchester Fire and Rescue Service, North West Ambulance Service, and Greater Manchester Police.
While emergency services worked tirelessly to bring the incident under control and keep everyone safe, we would like to take a moment to recognise and thank the local community.
Throughout the incident, residents and local businesses came together in an incredible show of community spirit. People offered shelter to those affected, provided water and refreshments, assisted with transport, and supported emergency responders wherever possible. Some members of the public even helped facilitate access to the scene by assisting officers with cordons, allowing emergency services and stuck residents to move with haste.
The kindness, patience and cooperation shown by the community did not go unnoticed. Your support played an important role in helping emergency services carry out their duties safely and effectively during a challenging situation.
It was truly great to see so many people looking out for one another and working together when it mattered most. Moments like these demonstrate the strength of our community and the difference we can make when we pull together and it is a prime example of what a good community looks like and what can be achieved when we come together.
On behalf of your local neighbourhood policing team, thank you for your support, understanding and community spirit.
