Caught Red-Handed ..... and Still Holding the Handlebars

From recent surveys, we note that you highlighted E-Scooters/nuisance motorcycles to be of an issue in the area. We wanted to provide you with an update on this matter through highlighting officers commitment to the cause! 

A rider who failed to stop for police officers sparked a short foot chase before being detained, refusing to let go of the vehicle.

Officers on patrol spotted the e-scooter and attempted to bring them to a stop. However, the rider failed to comply with police instructions and continued travelling away from officers, leading to a brief chase through the local area which was brought to a safe conclusion. 

Despite the resistance whereby the rider appeared to have become very attached to the e-scooter and was unwilling to let go, officers successfully secured the vehicle where the rider was subsequently arrested.

The suspect clearly thought fighting the issue was the best option, but much like the seized e-scooters, his plan ran out of charge rather quickly.
