Excessive green waste being fly tipped |
||
|
Dear Neighbours On recent walks along the bridle path to the left of Woodhall Farm, it has been noticed by several residents how much garden waste has been dumped over the years which is now becomming out of hand as much of it is very close to neighbouring properties. Not only can it encourage vermin to the area and become smelly, but during the recent dry spell much of it has become tinder dry and is now a potential fire hazard. This is particularly bad at all the bridle path access points, Saratt Avenue, Botley Road and Latimer Close, where there are large amounts of dumped garden waste. Our Councillors Colette and Belinda have been informed and have both reported this to Dacorum Council’s Clean, Safe & Green team, however this is not really something they should be dealing with. Some of this may have been done by visitors arriving in cars to fly tip but some may well be residents disposing of their garden rubbish rather than purchasing a green bin subscription? Can we remind everyone that dumping of garden waste is fly tipping and as such is a criminal offence. One suggestion to help with this in the future could be to have a chat with nearby neighbours and perhaps share a green bin subscription between two or three houses, especially if you don’t have too much garden waste. https://www.dacorum.gov.uk/home/environment-street-care/clean-safe-green/flytipping/report-fly-tipping Thank you.
