I wanted to provide you with an update regarding Vehicle crime (theft from or theft of), which people around your area have highlighted as an issue of concern on the priority survey. Number Plate Theft β Please Be Vigilant We are aware of a number of vehicle registration plates being stolen overnight in the local area.
Residents are asked to remain vigilant and, where possible, park vehicles in a secure or well-lit location. Consider using security screws to make number plates more difficult to remove.
Please check your vehicle before setting off and report any suspicious activity or individuals seen around vehicles to police.
If your number plates have been stolen, please report this to the police and arrange replacement plates as soon as possible.

ππ How to Protect Your Number Plates - With a number of registration plates being stolen locally, here are some simple steps you can take to make your plates harder to steal:
π© Fit anti-theft number plate screws β These are designed to make plates much more difficult to remove with standard tools.
π οΈ Use security fixings β Consider tamper-resistant screws or specialist number plate security kits.
π‘ Park somewhere well-lit β If possible, park on a driveway, in a garage or in a well-lit area covered by CCTV.
πΉ Check your CCTV β Make sure cameras are working and covering your vehicle and driveway.
π Check your plates regularly β If you notice anything unusual, such as loose fixings or attempted removal, report it.
π Stay vigilant β Keep an eye out for suspicious people or vehicles around parked cars and report anything concerning to police.
π± If your plates are stolen, report it to police and arrange replacement plates as soon as possible.
A few simple precautions can make your vehicle a much less attractive target. Stay safe and look out for your neighbours! π€π
