Officers from the Whitefield and Bury Neighbourhood Teams recently carried out a proactive traffic operation targeting vehicle crime, road safety offences and vehicles being used unlawfully on our roads. During the operation, officers stopped a total of 62 vehicles and issued 44 Traffic Offence Reports (TORs) for a variety of offences, including: ✅ 15 × Non-compliant number plates In addition, two vehicles were seized for having no insurance, and a learner driver was reported after being found using a 'ghost' number plate. Officers also seized an electric bike capable of reaching speeds of approximately 45mph. The rider was found to have no driving licence and no insurance, highlighting the risks posed by illegally used vehicles on our roads. Operations like these play an important role in improving road safety, tackling criminality and ensuring that vehicles being used on our roads are legal, safe and insured.
