Car damaged in suspected scam in Ipswich

Police in Ipswich are urging car owners selling their vehicles to be vigilant, following a suspected scam in Henley Road.

On Sunday 16 August between 12.30pm and 1.15pm, two males have arrived to view a vehicle that had been advertised for sale.  One male distracted the victim, whilst the other male put oil into the engine.  This has caused the engine to smoke when taken for a test drive.  The suspects have been persistent in their attempts to reduce the price of the vehicle.  No sale was made.
