Suffolk officer charged

A serving Suffolk police officer has been charged with two counts of sexual assault and one of assault.

Jack Long, aged 36 and who is based at Halesworth, was charged on Monday 17 August with two counts of sexual assault by touching on two different females. He was also charged with assault on a female.

Both victims are over the age of 18. The alleged incidents took place in Beccles on 28 February 2026.

He is due to appear before Ipswich Magistrates Court on Friday 6 November and is currently suspended from duty. He is of a police constable rank.
