Wigan and Leigh PACT Meeting - Wednesday 19th August 2026 *Update

On Wednesday evening (19/08/2026), the Wigan and Leigh Neighbourhood Policing Teams hosted their quarterly Partners and Communities Together (PACT) meeting.

In a change from the usual format, the meeting was held online and utilised the Slido platform.

Using Slido enabled us to reach a wider audience across the communities of Wigan and Leigh, allowing more residents, partners and elected members to put their questions directly to local officers.

Taking part in the session were Chief Inspector of Neighbourhoods Adam Wignall and Area 3 Inspector Paul O'Donnell.

The questions posed to both officers were wide-ranging and included:

❓ "Are Wigan and Leigh currently considered adequately resourced based on demand, or is there a recognised shortfall?"

❓ "What are the three biggest policing problems currently affecting the area, and what measurable targets have been set to address them?"
