🌧️ Rain, Rain, Go Away... But the Fire Risk Is Here to Stay |
||
|
Hi Resident
It may be hard to believe after the recent rainfall, but our countryside and green spaces are still at risk of fire.
With warmer and drier weather returning, now is the perfect time to refresh your knowledge of a few simple safety tips:
🔥 Never light campfires in the countryside 🔥 Do not use disposable BBQs in open spaces or rural areas 🔥 If using a BBQ at home, keep it well away from fences, sheds and shrubs and never leave unattended 🚬 Dispose of cigarettes safely 🗑️ Take your litter home with you, especially glass bottles which can intensify sunlight and increase fire risk 🏊 Avoid jumping and going into open water, it's much colder than it looks 🏠 Keep curved mirrors and glass ornaments away from windows to help prevent accidental fires at home
If you spot a fire or see someone in trouble in the water, call 999 immediately.
