Mobile Weapon Surrender Van - 26 August at 2:00pm-6:00pm |
||
|
Dear Resident,
A mobile weapon surrender van will be coming to Greenford this month where people can dispose of weapons safely and anonymously.
The Home Office’s weapon surrender scheme is operated by FazAmnesty, an organisation devoted to reducing knife crime and making our communities safer.
The FazAmnesty van will be coming to Greenford on 26 August between 2pm and 6pm, located outside Greenford Library, Oldfield Lane South, UB6 9LG (find on what3words by searching plans.rivers.valid). Trained staff from the organisation will safely and discreetly deposit any items handed in into a secure, surrender bin inside the mobile surrender van. No personal information will be taken, or any questions asked.
Last summer the Home Office’s weapon surrender scheme took 3,500 bladed weapons out of circulation across England. The FazAmnesty surrender van will be stopping off at 24 London boroughs, including our neighbouring boroughs of Hounslow on Tuesday 27 August 10am to 1:30pm (1 Clymping Dene, Feltham, TW14 0JA) and Hillingdon on Tuesday 27 August 2pm to 6pm (Pump Lane Car Park, Pump Lane, Hayes, UB3 3NB). See a list of all locations on the gov.uk website.
You can help prevent knife crime and report information anonymously by visiting Crimestoppers, Fearless, or by calling 0800 555 111. If you are ever in danger, or need immediate help, always call 999. | ||
