Westcotes Weekly Update
Supporting ongoing investigations Our officers have been assisting detective colleagues with a number of ongoing investigations. This has included carrying out enquiries, supporting investigative activity and helping to gather information and evidence to progress cases.
This type of work often takes place behind the scenes, but is an important part of building a strong case and ensuring those responsible for offences are identified and brought before the courts.
Plain-clothes Operation leads to arrest As part of proactive policing activity, officers working in plain clothes carried out an operation which resulted in a male being arrested on suspicion of Possession with Intent to Supply (PWITS).
During the operation, officers recovered more than 43 individual wraps, believed to be controlled drugs.
This demonstrates the value of intelligence-led and proactive policing, with officers taking action when concerns are identified within our communities.
Parcel returned to its rightful owner Following reports of a stolen parcel, officers carried out enquiries which resulted in the parcel being located.
The property was subsequently returned to its rightful owner, bringing a positive outcome to the victim of the theft.
PCSO observations lead to suspected drugs being recovered Our PCSOs were on patrol when they noticed a male behaving suspiciously.
When the male became aware of the PCSOs, he ran from the scene.
A search of the surrounding area was then conducted, resulting in officers locating nine small packets and three larger packets of a substance believed to be cannabis.
The items were recovered and will be dealt with appropriately as part of our ongoing efforts to tackle drug-related activity.
Supporting our emergency service colleagues Our officers also attended an incident involving a vehicle off Hinckley Road, where they assisted our colleagues from the fire service.
Working alongside other emergency services is an important part of our role, helping to maintain public safety and ensuring incidents are dealt with effectively.
Working together for our communities
These are just some examples of the work taking place across the neighbourhood. Not every aspect of policing is visible, and many enquiries continue in the background, but our officers remain committed to responding to concerns, acting on information and working with our partners to keep people safe.
Your information matters. If you have concerns about crime or suspicious activity in your area, please continue to report it through the appropriate channels. Information provided by our communities can help us build intelligence and target our resources where they are needed most.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support our local policing teams.
Together, we can help make our neighbourhoods safer.
