In response, Nottinghamshire Police and partner agencies launched Operation View, a coordinated initiative focused on preventing and reducing youth anti-social behaviour in the City Centre. Since launching the operation, we have: ✅ Conducted regular targetted Days of Action involving high-visibility and plain-clothes patrols using latest information and intelligence. ✅ Worked alongside CCTV operators, Nottingham City Council and Safer City Partnership officers to identify offenders and respond proactively to incidents. ✅ Engaged directly with businesses, residents and members of the public to identify emerging issues and anti-social behaviour hotspot locations. ✅ Added more than 35+ individuals to a multi-agency watchlist, allowing partners to share information and take a coordinated approach to tackling persistent anti-social behaviour within the City Centre. ✅ Started targeted interventions with the top individuals responsible for causing the most concern. ✅ Issued Community Protection Warning Notices (CPWNs) to address unacceptable behaviour and place restrictions on individuals to prevent further issues. ✅ Added police intelligence system markers to known offenders, helping officers identify and update information quickly. ✅ Seized numerous face coverings during patrols and enforcement activity where they were being used to conceal identities and facilitate anti-social behaviour. ✅ Delivered briefings to local officers, ensuring targeted patrols and intelligence gathering remained focused on identified hotspots. ✅ Raised awareness Operation View through local, regional and national media coverage, including BBC, ITV and LBC, to raise awareness , encourage reporting and directly communicate to parents and guardians of their responsibilities, and potential consequences. The Result📍 42% decrease in incidents of Youth ASB since Operation View was created. 📍 Increased police visibility and reassurance patrols across Nottingham City Centre. 📍 Improved intelligence sharing between police, local authorities, businesses and partner agencies. 📍 More effective identification and management of repeat offenders responsible for anti-social behaviour. 📍 Early intervention opportunities for young people at risk of becoming involved in criminality or persistent anti-social behaviour. 📍 Enhanced partnership working to address both the causes and consequences of anti-social behaviour. 📍 Greater community engagement, with residents and businesses helping to shape operational activity through reporting and feedback. Operation View remains an ongoing priority.
