Park Fest Success: 27 Bikes Marked and lots of Conversations with the Community!

Good Afternoon,

The local Safer Neighbourhood Team had a fantastic day at Park Fest, at Mycenae House, engaging with residents and visitors from across the community while promoting safety, crime prevention and community involvement.

With live music, family activities, refreshments and a brilliant atmosphere throughout the day, Park Fest provided the perfect opportunity for people of all ages to come together and enjoy a wonderful community event.

One of the highlights of the day was our free bike marking event, where the team successfully security marked and registered 27 bicycles. Bike marking is a simple but effective way to deter thieves and increase the chances of stolen bikes being recovered and returned to their rightful owners.

Throughout the afternoon, officers and PCSOs spoke with a large number of residents, providing crime prevention advice, answering questions and listening to local concerns. It was a great opportunity to strengthen relationships with the community and discuss the issues that matter most to local people.

The team was also pleased to sign up a significant number of residents from across London to Met Engage, helping more people stay informed about local policing, receive crime prevention updates and have their say on policing priorities in their area.

Events like Park Fest highlight the importance of community engagement and partnership working. By speaking directly with residents, sharing advice and encouraging involvement, we can continue to build safer and stronger neighbourhoods together.

A big thank you to everyone who visited the Safer Neighbourhood Team stall, registered their bikes, signed up to Met Engage and took the time to chat with us. We also extend our thanks to the organisers, volunteers and all those who helped make the event such a success.
