Stowmarket/Newmarket - Two drug dealers sentenced

Two drug dealers who were operating in our communities have now been sentenced following proactive work by officers from the Town Centre West team.

Gerasimos Vallianos, aged 25 and of no fixed address, was arrested in Stowmarket on 21 June after being found in possession of 67 wraps of cocaine.

Vallianos appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on 14 August where he pleaded guilty to possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and was sentenced to two-years' imprisonment. He will also be subject to deportation proceedings. The court ordered the forfeiture of £1,045 in cash, along with drugs, a mobile phone and other drug-dealing paraphernalia.

Wendler Figueredo, aged 39 and of Rous Road in Newmarket, was arrested in Newmarket on 30 June after being found with 87 wraps of cocaine.

Figueredo appeared at Ipswich Crown Court on 17 August where he pleaded guilty to possession of Class A drugs with intent to supply and possession of criminal property and was sentenced to 22 months’ imprisonment. He will also be subject to deportation proceedings.

The court ordered the forfeiture and destruction of drugs and paraphernalia, as well as the forfeiture of £515 cash, with 50% being donated to a local charity supporting those affected by homelessness and poverty.
