Partnership Visit On The Green

On 17/08/2026, Southall Green SNT conducted a joint site visit with representatives from Environmental Health, Business Rates/NNDR, and Ealing Commercial Waste Services. The purpose of the visit was to identify measures to better manage and control the waste generated by active businesses and residents within the area, particularly regarding how and where waste is presented for collection.

Ealing Council has already written to residents of the FAS properties, instructing them to present their domestic waste in sacks at the designated collection points adjacent to No. 72 The Green and No. 94 The Green. In addition, extensive enquiries are being conducted in relation to both residential and commercial premises, which will provide valuable information to support council records and ongoing enforcement activity.

To improve compliance, Ealing Council intends to issue Community Protection Warnings (CPWs) to residents of the FAS properties to ensure adherence to the waste presentation requirements. Furthermore, Section 47 Notices will be served on businesses using commercial sacks, requiring them to present their waste at the boundary of their respective premises. Businesses using commercial bins will be required to present them at the designated boundary points of the alleyway. These measures are intended to reduce the accumulation of domestic and commercial waste on the footway and prevent obstruction of the highway.

Ealing Council also intends to issue CPWs to relevant landowners of the rear alleyway to address ongoing issues relating to fly-tipping and the storage of waste within the alleyway.

The overall objective of these measures is to establish clear waste management arrangements and reduce, with the ultimate aim of eliminating, the persistent fly-tipping issues around the junction of Osterley Park Road, The Green, and the rear alleyway of The Green.

Additionally, two businesses identified during enquiries will be issued with £300 Fixed Penalty Notices (FPNs) for failing to provide a current and valid Trade Waste Agreement (TWA) when requested.
