Return of School Next Week |
||
|
As children return to school across Wardleworth, Central Ward and the surrounding areas, we are asking all drivers to take extra care near local schools including St Andrew's CE Primary School, Deeplish Primary Academy, Broadfield Community Primary School and Wardle Academy.
Every year, concerns are reported to police about vehicles parking on zig zag markings, stopping directly outside school gates, blocking roads, causing traffic tailbacks and drivers becoming impatient by sounding their horns or speeding away from busy school areas. These actions create unnecessary risks for children and other road users.
Children can be unpredictable, especially after the long summer holidays. They may step into the road without warning, cross between parked vehicles or become distracted while meeting friends. Please allow extra time for your journey, park legally and considerately, and avoid stopping where your vehicle blocks visibility for parents, children or other drivers.
The safety of our children is far more important than saving a few minutes on the school run. A little patience and consideration from everyone will help ensure that pupils, parents and staff can start the new school year safely. If you witness dangerous driving or parking around our schools, please report it to Greater Manchester Police. Let's work together to keep Wardleworth's children safe.
Spread the message, keep our children safe.
