High Value Shop Theft, Bakewell

Good Afternoon

We have had a large value shop theft reported where numerous high value outdoor coats have been stolen.  This happened last Sunday between 1210 and 1240.  The male has entered the store with an empty rucksack, selected several outdoor jackets which he has taken into changing rooms, placing them in his backpack before leaving.  

The offender is described as a white male, approx 40 years of age, 5ft 10, wearing an orange jacket, white cap, sunglasses, jeans.  

It is believed he entered another store nearby and removed his orange jacket and hat to alter his appearance.  

Be vigilant and report in suspicious activity.

We are encouraging stores to review their security on expensive items, keeping them within sight of the till, where possible.  If you are aware of a theft in progress or offender has just left the store, report to police via 999 giving as much derail as possible in relation to offenders description, direction of travel, any vehicles used.  

If the theft is NOT in progress and you dont believe the offender is still in the area, report via 101 or through our website.  www.derbyshire.police.uk.
