Tackling ASB, Begging & Drug Dealing

Residents told us:
Anti-social behaviour, begging and drug dealing remain ongoing concerns across the ward, particularly around Wood End Way Estate, with some incidents linked to violence and gang activity.

What We've Been Doing

✅ High-visibility and reassurance patrols

✅ Stop and search activity targeting violence and drug offences

✅ Enforcement under Public Spaces Protection Order (PSPO) powers

✅ Joint working with the Council's Safer Communities Team

✅ Action against individuals involved in ASB and criminality

Latest Update

The Ward Panel has confirmed this remains a key local priority. Patrols continue throughout the area to deter offending, provide reassurance and take enforcement action where appropriate.

Youth-Related Anti-Social Behaviour

Residents told us:
Groups of young people gathering in public spaces continue to cause concern, with some residents reporting intimidating behaviour and nuisance.

What We've Been Doing

✅ Regular high-visibility patrols

✅ Use of PSPO powers to disperse groups where necessary

✅ Engagement with young people and local residents

✅ Attendance at community events offering reassurance and crime prevention advice

✅ Action taken against repeat ASB offenders

This remains a priority following the latest Ward Panel meeting. Visible policing and enforcement activity continue to reduce ASB and reassure residents.

Latest Update

Street drinking remains a concern for residents. Patrols continue regularly and officers will continue to use enforcement powers where appropriate to prevent anti-social behaviour.
