Renewed appeal

Dear Resident,

We are writing to update you as we renew our appeal for information one year after a man's body was found in Sutton Coldfield. 

The man was sadly found dead at an address in Grange Lane on 27 August last year.

Despite carrying out an extensive and thorough investigation, we have not been able to identify the deceased man.

As well as speaking to people in the area, we have been following several other lines of enquiry as we work to find answers.

This remains an active investigation and our enquiries are continuing - and we previously released this photograph, which was recovered by officers during searches carried out at the address.

It appears to have been taken some time ago, and we believe the man pictured in it has links to Sutton Coldfield and West Bromwich.

Det Insp Matt Marston, from our Major Crime Unit, said: “One year on, we remain absolutely committed to getting answers, and we believe someone out there might be able to help us.

“The man’s death is still being treated as unexplained, and we will actively consider any new information provided to us.

“I would urge anyone who recognises the man in the picture, or who has any information that could help us, to please get in touch.”
