Sgt Prudence - Goodbye

Good morning all,

I just wanted to drop you all a quick message to let you know that I am leaving the neighbourhood team for Bolton Town Centre and moving to another district on promotion. You will be in great hands with the new sergeant taking my place, PS 17332 Aggie Wisniewska who will be in touch shortly and keep you updated on everything ongoing in Bolton Town Centre.

It has been a pleasure to work alongside many of you over the past 2.5 years, and I am exceptionally proud of everything we have been able to achieve.

My team have conducted hundreds of stop searches and vehicle stops, arrested dozens of offenders every week & have achieved an overall reduction in retail crime of a third over the past 2 years. They average a 70% positive outcome rate, which means for 7 in 10 of all crimes the Bolton Town Centre team investigate, we are charging or utilising out of court disposals when appropriate, rather than the investigations being closed with no one brought to justice. We have obtained Criminal Behaviour Orders on the most prolific offenders - starting with 4 in 2024 to now having 42 live order for a multitude of offence types, including retail crime, violence against women, anti-social behaviour, persistent aggressive begging and many more. 

This could only be possible through effective partnership working with local businesses, the Business Crime Partnership and a multitude of other partners that we have developed close relationships with over the past few years.
