What Makes a Local Economy Thrive?

Green Street raises an interesting question. What makes a local economy work?

It isn't simply the shops.  It is the people behind them — The families, businesses, employees, customers, community groups and institutions that create connections and keep things moving.

Growth also invariably brings challenges: pressure on public spaces, environmental issues, ASB, vulnerability and the need for effective infrastructure and public services.

From a policing perspective, we see do key aspect part of that picture.

Wider take away is that successful communities need both enterprise and support — people taking responsibility for their surroundings while institutions and partners provide the framework in which communities can thrive.
