Milad-un-Nabi

On SUNDAY 30/08/2026 the Muslim community completed Milad-un- Nabi (birth of the Prophet Mohammed (PBUH) peace walk which started from Al Madina Musjid based in Barking completed the walk at the Ilford Islamic Centre Albert Road.

Ilford Lane was closed down from 1400hrs to 1630hrs so the peace walk went without any issues as their was approximately 700 worshippers from the Al Madina Mosque and Ilford Islamic Centre parading through Ilford Lane.

The businesses served the community by giving out drinks and snacks to over 700 worshippers completing the peace walk.

The atmosphere was amazing with the Sikh community Hindu Christian community enjoying engaging with the Muslim community as 

Redbridge is one of the most diversity area in London. SIBA (South Ilford Business Association) chair Mr Khalid was delighted with the outcome of the businesses Metropolitan Police Teams - Clementswood SNT - Town Centre Team - Valentines SNT officers assisting with the peace walk which went without any issues of concerns. PCSO 7002EA ALEEM lead the peace walk with confidence speaking to the marshal's who were controlling the road closures so no vehicle entered Ilford Lane while the three hour peace walk took place. Also PCSO 7002EA ALEEM engaged with the community giving crime prevention advice and the contact detail for there local SNT teams.
