On Monday 31st August 2026 a 54 year old male was arrested in Great Longstone on suspicion of driving whilst under the influence of alcohol after failing a roadside breath test.
This morning Lee Knight, 54 of Troon Cambourne, Cornwall was charged with the alleged offence and will appear in court later this month.
Drink Driving is one of the biggest causes of fatalities on our roads . We know that many drivers would never dream about driving under the influence, but unfortunately, we still see this as a regular problem within Derbyshire.
Remember to leave your car at home if you might be tempted to have that extra drink, and to never get in a car with a person who has drank too much. Calling out friends and family of this behaviour might protect them more than you realise!!
