Catapult Interventions in Bethersden!

Following a recent flurry of catapult related crime in the Bethersden area, Beat Officers have been working with Neighbourhood Watch and our victims of crime, to gather as much evidence as possible with the aim of leading us towards identifying the suspects involved. Recent incidents relate to criminal damage, assaults and wildlife crime. 

Last week, Beat Officers identified a 15 year old male from Social Media images provided by members of the public. This male was since linked to an ongoing investigation into wildlife and theft offences, which the Beat Team have promptly interviewed him for and will decide on an outcome moving forward.

Our Neighbourhood Task Force have then completed targetted patrolling of the Bethersden area over the Bank Holiday weekend, built around the times we have been receiving sightings and that offences have been getting committed. Fortunately, no persons were stopped and there were no issues of note. 

Officers will be continuing to work towards disrupting those involved in catapult related crime. As a reminder, we would urge all sighting of persons with catapults to be reported via 999 and OP LAKESHOT to be quoted.
