Lyndon Crime Update

Good Evening,

Here is your WMnow update for what has been going on in the Lyndon area since our last message and what the team has been up to.

Crime Update: 

There was a Theft From Motor Vehicle on Hobs Moat Road which happened between 2000hrs – 2100hrs on 27/08/2026 whereby x2 males have approached a locked, secure and unattended Bronze Toyota vehicle and gained entry by unknown means and stole a purse containing bank cards and £30 from within the vehicle. 

There was an Attempted residential burglary of a home on Wagon Lane which happened between 00:00hrs – 01:00hrs on 29/08/2026 whereby offenders have gained access to the rear door of the property by snapping the lock. The offenders were disturbed by the occupant and made their escape via the rear garden.

There was a Theft From Motor Vehicle on Shalford Road which happened at 0347hrs on 29/08/2026 whereby the offender approached a secure, unattended Silver Mercedes E220. The offender smashed the window with an unknown implement and stole property from within the vehicle.  

Good News:

On Monday, we responded to a report of an attempt Theft whereby x3 males tried stealing the victims pedal cycle. Whilst speaking with victim, 2 males were pointed out as being involved and were on the upper deck of a bus which was travelling out of Solihull. Hot on buses tail, our officers located the bus and detained 2 males who were sat on the upper deck. Both of the males were searched whereby 1 of them was found with a large amount of cannabis. Both of the males details were confirmed and enquires continue in relation to the Theft. The saying 'YOU CAN BUT YOU CAN'T HIDE' fits perfectly with this. 

Once our team completed the paperwork for this job, we resumed our foot patrol around in and around Solihull Town Centre. Within minutes of resuming patrol our attention was drawn to a female who was causing damage to a Police vehicle. Whilst trying to remove the female from the roof of our vehicle, she proceeded to Assault one of our officers and was swiftly bought under control before being arrested for Assault Police and Criminal Damage. No Assault will ever be tolerated, especially when we are trying to do our job of keeping our community safe. 

We continue to have reports of vehicles speeding on our area; we of course take all reports of this nature seriously and have a range of tactics which we can use to combat this sort of issue. We are still looking for members of our community to help tackle this issue by conducting community speed watch checks in locations highlighted by you, the residents. Training will be given by your local DNO who will be present during the speed watch.
