Warning: Motorbike theft in your area |
||
Dear Resident,
Over the past couple of days, we have received reports of motorbike thefts in your area.
Thieves only need a matter of seconds to steal a vehicle, so it is important to make sure yours is protected by remembering: Lock, Chain, Cover.
Lock There are numerous different locks that you can use to help protect your motorbike: Don’t just rely on your steering lock – using numerous locks helps delay the thief as it gives them more barriers to get through.
Chain Add a layer of protection by using a chain lock through the back wheel. Make sure the lock is taut to an immovable object such as street furniture, or if that is not possible, then you can thread the chain through your bike frame and wheel.
Cover Using a cover makes your vehicle less attractive to thieves as it hides the model of motorbike and is another obstacle for them to overcome.
By following these steps, you can help make it harder for these opportunistic individuals.
More crime prevention advice can be found on our website.
