Two Offenders Arrested During Proactive Patrols by the Safer Streets Team
Yesterday, officers from the Safer Streets Team were carrying out visits to local retailers when they attended ALDI in Ellistown and spotted staff following a male known to officers as a prolific shop thief.
The male was detained and arrested after being found in possession of stolen goods. The items were recovered and returned to the store, and he will be reported for the offence.
Whilst dealing with this incident, officers received information from the Co-op in Thringstone that a wanted male had just been seen inside the store.
Officers responded quickly and identified an address where the suspect was believed to be hiding. After a brief game of hide-and-seek, officers located and arrested him.
The male was wanted in connection with 13 shop theft offences, a burglary, and was also wanted on warrant. He has been remanded to appear before the courts.
