We wanted to share a quick update about dangerous driving in your area. Please be assured we’re working to keep everyone safe. Dear courtfield residents.
Operation Noisy Car ran between Friday, 7 August and Sunday, 9 August, with officers disrupting uninsured drivers, as well as anti-social and dangerous driving across Hyde Park, Kensington and Chelsea.
The operation was carried out in response to ongoing complaints from residents about vehicles causing disruption and alarm. As well as being a nuisance, they also present a genuine safety risk and are frequently linked to other forms of offending, including, drug offences and illegal street racing.
The operation also highlighted the practical benefits of new powers under Section 59 of the Police Reform Act, which allows officers to seize vehicles involved in anti-social behaviour without first issuing a warning. While used as part of a targeted operation, these powers are available when dealing with anti-social driving as part of their day-to-day role and are a great tool to use to tackle ASB, one of our New Met for London 2 priorities.
 If someone is driving a motor vehicle, they should always be doing so in a safe and considerate manner. Even momentary lapses in judgement can have life changing or devastating consequences for those in the vehicle or innocent bystanders.
