Man banned from Norwich shops |

A prolific theft offender has been given a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) banning him from eight shops across Norwich. Leif Doolan-Notschild, 27, of Pyes Yard, Norwich appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on 24 August 2026 and was handed the CBO, which was granted for two years, after pleading guilty to a charge of theft from a shop. The charge relates to an incident that took place on 15 December 2025, where steaks were stolen from a shop on Prince of Wales Road. The conditions in Doolan-Notschild’s CBO state that he must not enter the following stores: B&M, Albion Way Morrisons, Albion Way Any East of England Co-operative Society store or Co-Operative Retail Services store within Norwich as defined by the Outer Ring Road Any Tesco Store (Express, Metro, Extra, Superstore), within Norwich as defined by the Outer Ring Road Aldi, Drayton Road Hannants Newsagents, Magdalen Street Holland & Barrett, White Lion Street Farmfoods, Westwick Street During the court hearing, Doolan-Notschild was also given a 20-week prison sentence, suspended for 24 months. PC Conor McCartney, from the Operational Partnership Team in Norwich, said: "This individual continues to commit shop theft offences on a regular basis across Norwich, which can have a significant impact on businesses, retail staff and customers. "The Criminal Behaviour Order places clear restrictions on his behaviour and provides us with additional powers to take action should those restrictions be breached. "We will continue to work closely with our retail partners to identify prolific offenders and take action against those who repeatedly target local businesses."
