Theft From Motor Vehicle In Chadderton Cemetery

Public Appeal and Crime Prevention Message

Police are appealing for information following the theft of a handbag from a vehicle at Chadderton Cemetery.

The incident occurred earlier today Thursday 03rd September at approximately 1430 hours when a female visitor left her vehicle unattended. It is reported that the vehicle had been left unlocked and insecure. Two males, travelling on separate motorbikes and wearing balaclavas, approached the vehicle, entered it and stole a handbag from inside before making off in an unknown direction.

Anyone who witnessed the incident, saw two males on motorbikes acting suspiciously in the area, or has relevant CCTV, Ring doorbell, or dashcam footage is asked to contact police, quoting Log number 1896 - 03/09/26

Always lock your vehicle, even if leaving it unattended for a short period.

Remove handbags, mobile phones, wallets and other valuables from sight.

Ensure windows are fully closed and vehicles are secure before leaving.
