Kinross-shire & Almond & Earn Community Policing – August 2026 Hello all, Please see below for an update from us in relation to Community Policing across the electoral wards of Kinross-shire and a large portion of Almond and Earn, during the month of August. As before, some of our duties get posted about on ‘Police Scotland Tayside’ social media accounts and we also provide reports for our 8 community councils, to include in their meetings which cover incidents of note and Police activity in the specific areas. Below is some of our activities in August - COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT Attended Cleish & Blairadam, Portmoak & Kinross Community Council meetings. Engagement with management staff at two different local children’s homes.Attending partner agency meetings at a local school. Delivering an input to pupils at Portmoak Primary School about vandalism and caring for their community. Speeding patrols in Kinross & Milnathort – no offences observed. CRIME Arresting a person wanted on an apprehension warrant. We regular review warrants that are outstanding to ensure offenders are brought to justice.Dealing with a housebreaking at Loch Leven Community Campus and following positive lines of enquiry into this. Investigating a complaint of stalking involved in a dispute between neighbours.Whilst on patrols, PC’s Samson & Duncan searched a 16-year-old male after receiving information he was in possession of cannabis. He was found with cannabis on him and was issued a Recorded Police Warning. TRAINING PC Samson attended a 2-day course at the Scottish Police College on restorative justice. OTHER Assisting with high risk missing person enquiries in Dundee. PC Samson, along with colleagues in South Perthshire Community Policing Team, are currently planning to run the Pitchin In programme with local high schools, which is a preventative tool used to reduce youth offending. This is planned for September and officers have been working to delivery this, whilst meeting with St Johnstone FC and Saints in the Community, who are taking part.Working at Dundee vs Hibernian football match.
