A man in Wymondham has been fined and handed a two-year Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) for malicious communications to NHS staff and breaching his Community Protection Notice. The 65-year-old was charged with six offences that related to a series of incidents between 17 November 2025 and 4 January 2026, and appeared at Norwich Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday (2/9). During the most recent incident, on 4 January 2026, Barnes contacted an NHS service in Hellesdon approximately 100 times during the day and was verbally abusive to the call-taker. "Nobody should be subjected to verbal abuse when they go to work, and this man has repeatedly shown disregard for NHS staff members with his actions...We continue to take this misuse of emergency services seriously and work closely with our partner agencies to take action against inappropriate behaviour" said PC Slade from the Operational Partnership Team.
