Norfolk Police has experienced its busiest summer on record |
||
Our officers and staff have been working around the clock to keep Norfolk safe, with demand reaching record levels across our Contact and Control Room this summer. Emergency calls (999) increased significantly compared to last year: When all contacts are included, including online reports, non-emergency calls (101) and email enquiries, the increase is even more marked: Behind every call, email and online report is someone needing help, support or advice. Increased demand can sometimes mean longer waiting times for non-emergency incidents. While we're working hard to respond as quickly as possible, every contact is assessed and prioritised so officers can attend those facing the highest levels of threat, risk and harm first. Our teams continue to respond to emergencies, investigate crime, safeguard vulnerable people and support communities across Norfolk. A huge thank you to our officers and staff for their dedication during what has been the busiest summer on record. | ||
