Community Safety Message: 2-in-1 Burglary Warning

🚨 2-in-1 Burglary Alert 🚨

We are reminding residents to stay vigilant against "2-in-1 burglaries", where offenders target homes to steal vehicle keys and then make off with both the car and other valuable property.

Criminals often gain entry through insecure doors, windows, or by exploiting weaknesses in home security. Once inside, they search for car keys, handbags, wallets, mobile phones, and other valuables before stealing vehicles parked outside.

How to protect yourself:

🔒 Always lock doors and windows, even when at home.

🔑 Keep vehicle keys out of sight and away from doors, windows, and letterboxes.

📡 Consider using a signal-blocking pouch (Faraday pouch) for keyless vehicles.

💡 Leave external lighting on sensors and ensure CCTV or doorbell cameras are working.

🚗 If possible, park vehicles in a garage or in a well-lit area.

📱 Remove valuables from view and avoid leaving keys near entrances.

👀 Report any suspicious activity, unknown persons, or vehicles in your area to police.

A few simple security measures can greatly reduce the risk of becoming a victim of burglary and vehicle theft.
