Dear Resident,

Greater Manchester Police is currently investigating a burglary dwelling and the theft of two motor vehicles.

A black Volkswagen Golf and a grey Volkswagen Golf were stolen from Ridge Lane, Diggle, sometime between 11:00pm on Friday 4 September 2026 and 6:30am on Saturday 5 September 2026.

If you were in the area during this time, witnessed any suspicious activity, or have CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage that may assist our investigation, please contact Greater Manchester Police on 101 and quote the following reference number:

CRI/06QQ/0019647/26

Any information, no matter how insignificant it may seem, could prove vital to our enquiries.

Crime Prevention Advice

Vehicle thieves often target keyless-entry vehicles and those without additional security measures. We encourage vehicle owners to consider using a visible steering wheel lock, which can act as both a deterrent and an additional layer of security.

To help reduce the risk of vehicle theft, we also recommend:

Parking in well-lit areas whenever possible.

Keeping vehicle keys away from doors, windows, and other accessible locations.

Storing vehicle keys, including spare keys, in a Faraday pouch or Faraday bag to help block keyless entry signals.

Using all manufacturer-fitted security features and tracking systems where available.

Faraday pouches and steering wheel locks are widely available from both online and high street retailers.
