Good News from this Week |
||
|
This week we have continued to focus patrols in areas of the ward highlighted to us by residents, addressing concerns around crime and anti-social behaviour while providing reassurance within the community.
Following information from members of our community regarding suspicious activity outside a block of flats, officers attended quickly and spoke with individuals at the location. Two men, known to police for drug-related issues, were stopped and searched. While no offences were identified on this occasion, our presence sent a clear message that concerns raised by residents are being taken seriously and helped deter any potential criminal activity.
Shortly after, further information was received about a man hiding behind the communal stairwell in the same block. Officers returned, located him and carried out checks. He was found to be wanted for immigration offences and was subsequently arrested.
The above demonstrates the value of information shared with us by you. Every report helps us build a clearer picture of local issues and allows us to direct our patrols where they are needed most.
We have also been continuing with ‘Street A Week’, in Samuel Street, reassuring residents through visible patrols and meeting you directly. This enables us to gather intelligence about crime, anti-social behaviour, drug activity, nuisance vehicles, or other concerns that may not ordinarily have been reported.
Building trust and confidence with our community is important to us, we want you to know who your local officers and PCSOs are and to feel comfortable reporting issues to us.
Please do come to us with any issues you have and again we thank you all for your support.
‘Every individual matters. Every individual has a role to play. Every individual makes a difference’.
