E-bike Seized by your local officers! |
||
|
Good evening Resident,
This evening, your local Neighbourhood Policing Officers were out in Hoo, Rochester on patrol, when an unsuspecting E-bike rider came round the corner and was greeted by 4 officers. The rider was safely removed from the E-bike and stopped & searched to ensure they did not have any illegal items on them. The rider will be prosecuted for road traffic matters such as no insurance, no license and failing to stop for police which result in points on their license as well as a fine. The E-bike was seized for having no insurance - the rider will not be able to get this back as this type of bike cannot be insured for public roads.
This type of anti-social riding and behaviour is dangerous, illegal, and putting pedestrians, families, and vulnerable residents at risk of serious harm.
We want to reassure you that this is a priority for your local Neighbourhood Policing Team. We understand the impact this is having on the community, from intimidation and noise nuisance to the very real risk of collision or injury.
