Neigbourhood Policing Team - Earls Court Ward Update

Good evening everyone

It has been a very busy fortnight for the Earls Court Neighbourhood Policing Team (NPT) this is just an update of our activities.

Operationally up until and during Notting Hill Carnival all officers had been seconded away from NPT duties and were placed on AID to pre-event & event operations. This was the 60th anniversary of the carnival and over two days was visited by almost two million people although there were over 600 arrests & over 3000 stop & searches. The event over two days passed largely without significant incident. During this period you may have noticed Pcso Lee Overy whom did a superb job on his pedal bike patrolling Earls Court. 

On Thursday on his way into work in Earls Court Pcso Lee Overy saw a known offender complete a drug deal near to 158 Earls Court Road. Police then received further information from Sainsbury’s who had captured this moment on CCTV. We thank them for their reporting & their swift action in providing us the footage. The Neighbourhood Policing Team then attended Flat 1, 158 Earls Court Road Thursday afternoon where two persons were arrested not the occupier. The arrests due to current circumstances have meant the entire Earls Court NPT were on duty till 4am the next day dealing with the matters. A few hours sleep and back on duty Friday afternoon. We then met with the local authority & Notting Hill Genesis Housing Association whom manage the building in relation to the incident and the ASB emanating from the building. Various legislation under the Bail and Anti Social Behaviour Act have been served and curtailed the issues emanating from flat one. Police will contact the residents of the building to provide further information of the short to long term plan. 

On Saturday Pc Hunter & Pc Smith attended a community event at Earls Court Square. Thankyou to the residents that attended we will be acting on the information received. 

Next week there will be a live facial recognition operation in Earls Court. We will also be attending Mary Smith Court for a community event to do with Violence Against Women & Girls. We will also be attending several addresses that are suspected of cuckooing if you suspect any addresses on the ward please let us know. This is part of a week of action across NPT within London to do with cuckooing.
