Suspected unexploded mortar located in Crowland- Road Closure

Road Closure: Gravel Causeway, Crowland, Spalding.

The road is closed from the West Bank junction, across the river to the Bridge Inn crossroad.

We are currently at the scene after what is believed to be an unexploded mortar was discovered in a field on the outskirts of Crowland.

For public safety, a full road closure has been put in place on Gravel Causeway. while the incident is assessed. We appreciate that this diversion is significant and may cause inconvenience, and we would like to thank the public for their patience and cooperation. Please follow the instructions of officers at the scene and avoid the area where possible.

We are awaiting the arrival of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) specialists, who will assess the item and advise on the next steps.
