  COMMUNITY SAFETY MESSAGE – CHAPEL-EN-LE-FRITH & FURNESS VALE , CHINLEY, BUXWORTH 

The Chapel-en-le-Frith and Whaley Bridge Safer Neighbourhood Team are asking residents to remain particularly vigilant following reports of properties in the areas being targeted, with offenders gaining access to properties.

We are aware of concerns that those responsible may be looking for vehicle keys, potentially with the intention of stealing vehicles.

      Please take some simple precautions:

▪️ Keep vehicle keys out of sight and away from doors, windows and letterboxes.
▪️ Ensure doors, windows, garages and outbuildings are securely locked.
▪️ Consider using your alarm, CCTV or other security measures if available.
▪️ Be aware of unfamiliar people or vehicles in your neighbourhood.
▪️ If you see anything suspicious, make a note of descriptions and vehicle registration numbers only if it is safe to do so.
▪️ Please speak to your neighbours and share this message, particularly with anyone who may be more vulnerable.

      REPORT SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

If you see something suspicious, please report it to Derbyshire Police. Do not put yourself at risk or approach anyone you believe may be involved.

 999 – if a crime is happening now or there is an immediate threat.
 101 – for non-emergency police matters.

Your information could help us identify those responsible and prevent further offences.

Please remain vigilant and look out for one another.
